Fresh snow covers Redd’s Pond and the surrounding landscape, transforming one of Marblehead’s familiar local spots into a distinctly winter scene.
Artist Note
We had only recently moved to Marblehead when I took this photograph, and Redd’s Pond quickly became one of those places where I learned you never quite know what you’re going to find. It’s an idyllic little spot that seems to take on the character of whatever season or weather moves through town. In winter, local kids play hockey on the frozen pond. By summer, it is full of life, with turtles, fish, ducks, and all kinds of birds. On this snowy day, seeing the pond completely transformed was another reminder of how much this small corner of Marblehead changes throughout the year.
