Historic dark clapboard house covered in snow with a red front door and frosted windows in winter light.

Red Door in Snow

Winter can simplify a scene in a way nothing else does. Here, the snow softened the clapboards, windows, and roofline until the house felt almost absorbed by the storm. The red door remains, a small point of color in a nearly monochrome frame.

I’m drawn to photographs that hold stillness without feeling empty. This one is about weather, restraint, and the way a single detail can change the tone of a place.

Available as an archival fine art print, the image is produced to preserve the subtle tonal shifts in the snow and the quiet texture of the siding. It works well in rooms that favor a calm, winter palette.
