Marblehead Light disappears and reemerges as fog moves through the harbor, wrapping the lighthouse in layers of mist. The familiar structure becomes almost abstract for a few moments, with the weather reshaping one of Marblehead’s most recognizable landmarks.
Artist Note
I was walking around Fort Sewall when fog started moving through the harbor. For a few moments, it seemed to grab hold of the lighthouse and then slowly let go. The whole thing happened quickly, but the way the fog draped itself around the structure created an incredible scene, and I knew I had to capture it. Marblehead Light is such a defining part of the town, and there was a natural synergy between the lighthouse and the fog. Both are so deeply tied to Marblehead’s maritime environment that, together, they felt completely at home.
