I made this photograph in the middle of a Nor'Easter, when the wind was howling and the light had softened to a pale, almost weightless gray. Snow had already begun to gather on the clapboards and windows, muting the house into the weather.
The red door held the center of the frame, a small note of warmth against the cold facade. I was drawn to the quiet contrast between the dark siding, the frost, and the stillness of the street.
Printed on archival paper, the image retains the subtle tones in the snow and the texture of the weathered wood. It is made for collectors who value restrained, atmospheric work with a calm presence.
