A snow-covered Vermont barn sits beneath the Green Mountains, framed by split-rail fences and fresh winter light. The scene brings together the textures, architecture, and landscape that make rural Vermont so recognizable.
Artist Note
This spot is tucked away in a small nook in Vermont, and it has become one of those places I photograph almost every time I drive past it. After a snowfall, it turns into a quintessential Vermont winter scene, with the rustic barn, split fences, and Green Mountains all coming together. The light that morning was especially beautiful. It is one of those places that takes me away every time I pass it, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.
Split Fences received Best in Show in Photography at the 2022 Marblehead Festival of Arts.
